BTS J-Hope (Jeong Ho-seok) and Suga (Min Yoon-gi) have been officially registered as lyrics and composers of the song that ranked first in the Billboard Hot 100.
On October 14th, the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) released the copyright status of 'Savage Love (BTS Remix)' on its website. J-Hope and Suga were named along with three overseas lyricists and composers.
As a result, J-Hope and Suga became the first Korean lyricists and composers to participate in the No. 1 song in “Hot 100”.
‘Savage Love (BTS Remix)’ is a remixed version of the song ‘Savage Love’ by New Zealand producer Josh 685 and American singer Jason Derulo, with members Suga, J-Hope, and Jung Kook. At the same time as the announcement, it ranked first on the Billboard main single chart 'Hot 100' this week.
Billboard usually combines the remix version with the original song and counts it as a single song, but this time, the contribution of the ‘BTS remix version’ is large, so BTS is proud to be ranked first in the 'Hot 100'.
J-Hope and Suga, who participated as vocalists, and J-Hope and Suga, who participated as rappers, fully showed off the original song, a reggae music, and generously showed off the musical capabilities of BTS.
BTS will hold the 2nd No. 1 track in their career after “Dynamite,” which is Korea's first “Hot 100” song. In particular, it made the first case that a song containing Korean lyrics took first place on the Billboard'Hot 100'.
